The Retro F1 has a new flywheel and clutch.
The old engine had 414 HP and the new one has 500 - 550 HP at the flywheel and with only 850 Kg is should be quick.
Hopefully we can start her in the next few days and then off to the track for a shake down.
It has been a long time since we last did that but life and more importantly business at Roaring Forties has kept us all to busy.
I have been offered a “one make series” by AASA here in Australia and I am looking forward to that new adventure. I hope to start the production of these cars very shortly and hope to turn a few demonstration laps before the years end.
Please form an orderly que with your orders, at $125,000 Ausie complete, I hope to offer great “bang for your buck”.

Finally got back to my project car. Chassis completed and now most of the aluminium panel patterns are also completed. Will transfer by hand to aluminium and start fitting up. Still a few issues with the fuel system but I think I have a fix for that.
Looking forward to getting this on its wheels, should look beautiful.

Thanks to my son, Michael Logan we have recovered the "showroom" part of my old website from 20 years ago. The language that it was written is no longer supported and many had told me it was impossible to retrieve it but my son did not take note of all those 'nay Sayers' and applied himself and this is the result.
A HUGH thanks Michael, so very well done and I am so happy to get it back.
I hope you all check it out and make your comments.

Three into one headers completely welded up and on the car. Been a big weekend and the project has been highly advanced. Hope to fit the final brackets for everything next weekend and then into the rotisserie for the completed chassis to be fully welded and then off to our sandblasters and powder coaters. After that it is an assembly job, everything goes a lot quicker then and we should be “burning and turning” shortly there after.
This is the time I start to get excited as I see the end of the project and can stand back and look at the completed work, very satisfying that part.

Exhausts progressing well, right side all tacked up. Tomorrow I hope to have the left side tacked and all the headers fully welded up. I have been looking at cats for her and silencers and tail pipes also. Should get all that finished in the next few weeks.

Great week with the Tipo with lot and lots of progress. Putting parts on to the car is easy but getting parts on the Tipo that look like they belong there and when you look at it it has balance, now that is a completely different game.
The dash and the pedal box and gear change are all now in place and the sub structure that I need for a centre console with all the required switches will now take place (in my head and will be on the car this coming week).
Interesting how I still have time thinking and little progress and then all those concepts marry together and lots of progress takes place.

Almost finished.Love this car, great proportions, just looks right, even without her bodywork, whichever one you choose

Tipo engine to gearbox adapter plate.

From 3D scanning to conversion to DXF to being machined and special bolts also made in just over three weeks. Fantastic and only because of the team and partners involved. Many thanks Brett Longhurst and the team at Bremar.

Now lets see it fitted and in place and we can finalize the engine / gearbox / clutch / gear change.

Just love solving problems and making the solutions astatically pleasing. Just love being an "engineer".

Lots of progress with the Tipo 33 this week. Scanned the back of the engine, designed a gearbox / engine adapter and having it CNC milled over the next few weeks. Done the flywheel and clutch, so should be burning and turning soon.
Also had a roll cage made for the Tipo and can now finalise the door hinges and dash. Been a big week for the Tipo 33 and with some free time, I hope to progress this project quickly now.
Great looking car.

Fantastic news, we have just had our Retro F1 accepted to run with AASA here in Victoria. Even better, if we get 10 cars on the grid, they have offered us our own "one make series". Just imagine 10 plus of these cars circulating together with all the different liveries of the late '60's. Now that is my happy place.
The Gurney and Ferrari 312 below but we also have a copy of the Lotus 49 completed and can paint one to look like the Honda, McLaren, BRM, Matra : you choose.
I have three EOI for cars and we hope to get the first one out on the track for the first race in mid March.
Exciting times.

Progress with our Tip-off 33.
Dash made by a close friend Don Elliott, a true master of his craft.
Just setting up the dash clocks, switches and warning lights to match the original and also to comply with the requirements of ADR’s for registration. Always a fine line that.
all signed off by the owner, very happy with the progress
Still lots to do

Tipo 33 flywheel almost complete. The original flywheel is the lower part with the ring gear for the starter motor and a chopper wheel for the crank sensor and we have added to it with an aluminium section which the multi plate clutch is fixed to. The clutch is very special and we have designed everything to use our hydraulic release bearing and adaptor plate. A very complex problem, solved. A great day / week / month.
Happy Christmas to all.
