Just Wow! It’s been THREE years now and Hundreds of passes on Patrick and Jeff Miller’s CrossTie XLP diffs! This is the 1st time we have seen them in our shop for inspection / service. They were only sent in for some Ratio changes 😂. Cheers to these guys, they were our 1st Big NHRA players. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

We just got the chance to put eyes on Jay Misel’s record setting LDR class ProMod CrossTie 3rd member. He achieved a 0.950 second 60ft record and had multiple low 0.950s to back it up! At first we were under the impression he only had a few fast passes on our Crosstie XLP with our billet 10+gear. I was just told he has 42 runs on it! You can still see 100% of the finish tool paths that are only about .0005” deep. His car accelerates at well over 3G’s and is approximately 3000 hp. I believe we have not even scratched into the life of this gear yet! Congratulations Jay!

Recap of a great weekend of racing:
Huge congrats to and !
Kyle Jergensen took his truck from 16th at the half way point, to win the 6100 class and was only 37 seconds behind the fastest AWD TT truck at Legacy 500 on Friday.

Paul Wolf swept qualifying, prelim, and came in with a strong 2nd place finish after losing time from a front flat on lap 1.

Paul has our 2nd Gen dual 1-Way Race Drive Front Differential, and both drivers were racing on our Tubeworks Billet 10+ Reinforced Racing Gears & CrossTie Thirdmembers.

Another Tubeworks ready for pickup. This one features our 3.75:1 ring and pinion, 2-3/8” 36 spline spool, 1-3/16” thread 35 spline 300M pinion shaft, and a billet 1480 yoke set. You can see how the gear teeth are webbed together to improve strength and help control oil from crushing out of the gear mesh.

Here’s a quick recap on KOH Nitto Race of Kings.

Tubeworks Crosstie platform takes the overall winner position now THREE YEARS IN A ROW! This is in a High Pinion Configuration, along with over 40 units in this race.

Tubeworks drivetrain products on 7+ of the top 10 finishers.

THREE sets of Tubeworks 10+ Billet gears in top 10 finishers.

100% of of our new dual one way with reverse lockout differentials for the Yamaha YXZ platform functioned flawlessly and are available for racers.

Some big power NHRA stuff here for . For those who don’t know, we manufacture nearly every part in this billet CrossTieXLP 10 Plus assembly in-house. This includes the billet gears, billet case, rotating girdle, billet yoke, pinion lock nut system, and a reinforced pocket bearing. This allows us to adjust to the needs of the customer by making custom gear ratios in a reasonable time frame if not available through the standard gear manufacturers.

What determines gear strength? Discussion to expand.

This graph plots the pinion input torque ratings, based on sizing data from Gleason / AGMA / ISO.

Red: 10” bevel gear, no hypoid offset (Transaxle)

Orange: 10-1/2” 1-1/2” hypoid offset

Black: Industry standard 9.4” (Ford 10”) 2.25” hypoid offset

Blue: 10.6” Dev. (TW10+) 2.25” hypoid offset.

Please note that the 9.4” (Ford 10”) 5.43 ratio to have the same torque capacity as a 4.10 ratio in the same sizing, would need to be increased to over a 12” set. See last image.
