It is with extreme sadness that we share this obituary of our friend and founder of Penguin Auto Rentals, Ed Bowman. He fought the hard battle against cancer until it took his life. To honor him, Penguin Auto Rentals and Penguin Auto Service will be closed for business on Wednesday, May 22. This will also allow the DeAngelo family to share the burden of grief with the Bowman family on the day of his funeral. Thank you for your understanding as we mourn the loss of a good friend.

Due to the increased number of E-Z Pass Violations,
Red Light Violations, Parking Violations and Speeding Violations we receive on a daily basis now, we find it necessary to begin charging a processing fee for each violation of $10.00, beginning today.
Processing violations is time consuming and sometimes challenging. We have to pay staff to process these violations, which takes hours every day.
If you have an E-Z Pass transponder, use it in our vehicle while renting. If you do not, pay cash. If cash isn't an option at the toll and you choose not to pursue finding a way to pay it, you WILL receive a violation from that city and a $10.00 processing fee from us.
If you receive a parking ticket on your rental, pay it. If you are caught in violation of a red light or are speeding, the tickets for those are going to be mailed to us, because the tag on the vehicle belongs to us. We will charge you for that violation AND a $10.00 processing fee. None of these violations are cheap, but the red light and speeding violations are very costly. The only way to avoid these violations are to SLOW DOWN and STOP at the lights appropriately.

I have no details yet, but our Elantra was just found in North Carolina!
They only had it for just over one day. I have to say that quick recovery time doesn’t happen without great teamwork.
The staff of Penguin Rentals joins the DeAngelo family in thanking all those who helped us in any way. Especially the men & women of law enforcement who step into dangerous situations every day to help people they’ve never even met.

Family, friends and clients. This 2017 electric blue Hyundai Elantra was just stolen off our lot. Tag -RRP. Being driven away here by a white male in his 30’s, brown hair, white t-shirt, baseball cap. His accomplice is a white female in her 50’s, blonde hair.
PVPD are on the case.

Folks, we are in need of assistance from our friends, clients and family. One of our vehicles has been the subject of a theft by deception...renting it and disappearing with it. ((sigh))
Our 2013 Ford Fusion, Gray with Black Wheels, Tag (NJ), 4-Door was rented here on March 24, 2023 and we have not been able to locate it since. It is one of the few vehicles we own without a tracker on it (they all will have them installed within a week...lesson learned).
The renter of the vehicle was Caprice Madison. Her license has her address listed as 6104 Stark Way, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. We have found out through the assistance of the Mt. Laurel Police Department that she was evicted from that address months ago and was living at Budget Inn, 1824 Route 130, Burlington, NJ. When I called the hotel I was told that she had moved quite awhile ago and left no forwarding address.
I called her insurance company, Progressive, to advise them of the theft but found out that her insurance lapsed as of April 2, 2023. : (
It is a bad situation that is not going to end well for us, unless we can find the car soon.
She has probably taken the penguin decal off of the car by now and probably has changed the tags, as well. It seems like this was a plan from the beginning.
I am going to post a photo here of what the car looks like in hopes that you see it in your travels. It would surprise me if she were in town or even local, but you just never know. We have to do something, you know?
I will post a photo of her license/photo, too. Probably illegal, but HEY she did it first...

January 2, 1990 was the day that Penguin Rentals opened it's doors at 181 S. Broadway, here in Pennsville, NJ. Unsure of our future, but ready to work hard at making a dream come true...being self-employed. We had a one year old, and two teenagers. A daring move to say the least. But, here we are. Penguin provided us and our children a good life. We worked hard, but could afford many things due to that hard work and Penguin Rentals.
Yesterday, Penguin celebrated it's 33rd year in business! Now proudly owned and operated by Mike, Lisa, Tony and Stephany DeAngelo since January 2, 2018. The business is now providing a good life for them, as it did us. They work hard, for sure...just like we did. Not a lot of businesses make it this long. Penguin is here to stay and serve our little community as it's hometown rental agency, just like the first day we opened.
We thank our clients, customers and friends for supporting us and look forward to a bright future together keeping you on the road!

This year is quickly coming to a close and 2023 will be arriving in just 2 days! Geez! I can remember when it was 1999 and the year of 2000 arriving was rumored to be the end of the world! Oh...but I digress.
We will have our regular hours Saturday, December 31 of 9-noon. But, will be keeping our doors closed on Monday, January 2 in observance of the holiday to give ourselves and our employees time at home to begin their new year on a relaxed note.

Christmastime is here. We wish all our clients, friends, family and associates a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. May 2023 bring what ever you're praying for, what ever you're hoping for, what ever you’re working hard for, what ever you need. We pray that 2023 will be kind to us all.
Our office will be closed Monday, December 26 in order to give ourselves and our associates a day to enjoy home and family. We will reopen Tuesday, December 27 at 8:00 am.

The holidays are upon us once again. Thanksgiving is, of course, the time for us to pause and be thankful for the relationships, family & friends that we have. For a roof over our head and food on our table.
Penguin Rentals will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 so that our staff can enjoy precious time with those that they hold dear. We will re-open Saturday, November 26 from 9am-noon.
We sincerely hope that your Thanksgiving is bountiful with food, family and all that makes you happy.

They claim to be the Atlantic City Electric Company. THEY ARE NOT!
I reported them to the REAL Atlantic City Electric Company and there is now a case against them.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF THE INFORMATION THEY ASK YOU FOR. No routing number of your bank, no checking account number...nothing. He even asked me for my AC Electric account number. IDIOT! If you're calling from the electric company why would you need my account number?! It should be right in front of you. I told him to read the account number he had for me and I'd tell him if it was correct. He actually did it! IDIOT! It was no where near correct.
I told him I was done talking to him and he yelled into the phone.."you're going to be disconnected!"
He had a strong Mexican accent and I heard others just like him in the background. I'm sure they all were doing the same thing to other unsuspecting people. I am very concerned for the elderly. That they will buy into this scam and lose their money to them. Please warn your older friends and family.

Customers! Please be advised that Saturday, September 10 you will have a difficult time getting to our office due to the Septemberfest Parade that will slow down and/or block off the main road through Pennsville for most of the morning hours. Think ahead! Make a plan early! Late returns will be charged accordingly.
If you can, take the time to enjoy this day and feel the unity of the locals. That is what this day was originally intended to do. Bring the community together to enjoy your families and friends.
