Bad Injector
Example of a bad injector. Note: the finger pattern is blown before cleaning and the umbrella pattern after cleaning. Dirty injectors will cause a leak down hot start problem and poor performance.
Good Injector
Example of a good injector
Checking the frequency valve
Example of a good frequency valve holding pressure after it's been cleaned and filter changed. If it's not holding pressure after activation, then this can cause a hot start problem. When the car is running, frequency valves do run virtually all the time, to equalize pressure in the distributor. When the car is turned off, if frequency valve is not good, it will leak the pressure off of the fuel system and will cause a hot start.
