Thistle Automotive Ltd owners, Richard and Patricia Harman, emigrated to Canada with their two young daughters in January 1981 after a visit to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta in the summer of 1979. Richard began working at Eastland Ford in Fort Saskatchewan as an Automotive Technician and quickly settled into his new life in Alberta. Six months later a vacancy at

the Fort Saskatchewan Esso Station became available and Richard moved on to his next adventure. Richard spent many years at Fort Esso and after long time owner, Malcolm Deacon retired, he began to think about opening his own shop so he could provide his own personalised service to the residents of Fort Saskatchewan. In May 1990 Richard and Patricia opened the doors of Thistle Automotive Ltd. Over the years Richard has built a successful business by providing superior automotive service with exceptional customer service. Richard and Patricia have made it their mission to take automotive repair to a new level. Each client is treated with the utmost respect and given detailed information regarding the repairs required and the preventative maintenance to care for their vehicle. All of our service staff regularily attend industry approved training courses supplied by NAIT and the NAPA Centre for Automotive Excellence. The NAPA Centre provides ongoing programs with the objective of producing the best trained staff in the independent service and repair industry.

Oh what we fun had on our sleigh. Could not believe the amount of Families & kids that came out to line the streets for the Santa Clause Parade. Special Thanks to Richard for allowing my crazy plan to come together. My hubby for the use of the truck, Harold for entertaining the crowds, Maxine for being a naughty elf 😂Adam for washing & polishing the truck he did an awesome job. Good Morning, it's -2 today, chilly with little sparkly snowflakes! People are asking daily when is the correct time to put on their winter tires, Mr. Google advises anytime after Thanksgiving but NOW is the time since there is no Indian Summers forecast anytime soon. People think they should wait until after the first snowfall but we recommend that once the temperature drops below 7 degrees that is when to Install your winter tires as all season tires will stiffen reducing traction resulting in longer braking distances in wet & snowy weather.
