The 2025 Automotive Industry “Australian of the Year” is the iconic Ian Tate OAM … and what a great man he is … and continues to be in our Automotive and Motorsport World

We can’t write anything here that hasn’t been already written about his legacy! … his lifelong journey is immeasurable and may never be matched again.

We celebrated and payed homage to Ian on Friday in one of his favourite locations … the VHRR club room at Cooldrive in Blackburn with 80 of Ian’s family, friends and colleagues in attendance … that setting is just amazing and the history on display is awe inspiring!

The official announcement and presentation was conducted by John Blanchard CEO of Cooldrive and the Blanchard Racing Team and we thank John for his memorable reflection(s) on Ian’s journey which also includes a lifelong friendship with the Blanchard family …

Whilst we are still a couple of days away from receiving the official photos from the presentation, here are a few that we thought are quite special

We will post these images when they become available and pay a special tribute to the late Dorothy Tate who is very much on ours … and more importantly … the Tate family and friends thoughts … on this occasion.
