We are very proud to share that Sustainable Vehicle Solutions received the Low Emission Transportation Judges Commendation Award for outstanding contribution to the decarbonisation of road transportation earlier this week at the SIM-PAC Awards!

The SIM-PAC Awards highlight the efforts to pave the way toward net-zero emissions, a circular economy and sustainable industrial manufacturing.

Of the award, Geoff Matthews, Event Director and Host of SIM-PAC Live said "The Judges were impressed with the leadership shown by SVS in being first to market with a light commercial fully electric vehicle for the Australia Market.

Without the courage and commitment of companies like SVS forging the path for other to follows, we have no hope of decarbonising the supply chains for industrial manufacturing, which is just about everything we use, consume and produce."

We thank SIM-PAC for this incredible honour.

A big congratulations to Gurpreet of Badesha Trans on taking delivery of this beautiful new Foton T5 electric truck from Joe and our Derrimut team!

This is Gurpreet's second Foton from Sustainable Vehicle Solutions and will be used for IKEA home deliveries in the Melbourne metro area. Gurpreet has chosen Foton due to how smooth the T5 drives, the low fuel cost, great safety features and the eight year warranty.

✍️ We've asked our new General Manager, Joe Di Santo, a few questions to help you to get to know him and Sustainable Vehicle Solutions a little better! Read on to find our more about Joe, and his thoughts on sustainable transport.

❔ Tell us about your role at Sustainable Vehicle Solutions and your experience in the transport industry.
💬 My role as General Manager at SVS is to build profitable dealerships in both Adelaide and Melbourne, that provide organisations with genuine commercial vehicle solutions that can help meet their carbon emissions reduction targets. My first role within the automotive industry started back in 2018 when I was asked to set up the commercial operation for SEA Electric, Australia’s first OEM electric truck company, in both Australia and New Zealand.

❔ In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit for a business to go electric?
💬 Getting straight to the point, pollution is damaging our planet, so there is a lot of pressure on Australian organisations and their senior leaders with imposed mandates to reduce their carbon footprint output. Electric and other low emission commercial vehicles provide senior leaders with a real, measurable and instantly demonstrable platform to begin reducing their carbon output.

❔ Why should businesses be focused on good sustainability practices?
💬 a.It’s simply the right thing to do for the future of the planet’s health, it’s the only reason why electric vehicles exist today!
b. Early exploration and integration empowers businesses with the knowledge to make informed decisions for future planning.
c. Organisations have a social responsibility to do the right thing by their community and uphold ethical business practices where possible.
d. Proactive organisations will benefit from brand acceptance, both internally and by their customers e.g. IKEA who lead the way globally, demanding 100% electric logistics solutions.
e. Businesses can also be rewarded by winning tenders and contracts due to being the best low emission solutions provider.

❔ What is your favourite feature of the Foton T5?
💬 All modern safety features expected are present, strong chassis construction and LFP battery technology that provides battery life up to 20 years.

❔ What excites you most about the future of sustainable transport?
💬 It’s clear we’ve past the tipping point with electric cars and I predict that commercial electric trucks will be in a similar position within the next three years. SVS is well poised to play an important part of this transition in Australia.
