The Beneteau First 44.7 was born of a collaboration between Farr Yacht Design and Beneteau that produced a fast but comfortable yacht capable of inshore and offshore success. After an incredible journey across the Bass Strait, Unprecedented, the double-handed Sunfast Jeanneau 3300 co-skippered by Andrew McGrath and Ben Thompson from the Safety Beach Sailing Club, has taken the win in the 2025 Melbourne to King Island Race!

"Trilogy" is an icon of the Australian trailerable yachting scene.

Designed by Tony Grainger and built by Mirage Yachts in 1995 of carbon/kevlar, she is a truly remarkable 9.75 metre trimaran. In her day, she won 7 Australian Trailerable Multihull Championships, and over the past 5 years, under her current ownership, she has received many considered upgrades making Trilogy both an extrememly fast racer and a capable coastal cruiser. In 2023 she successfully completed a voyage from Cairns to Metung, on the Gippsland Lakes, Victoria, and is ready to go again.

Trilogy is an ideal boat for fun, fast, social sailing. Based in Cairns in recent years, Trilogy introduced over 1,000 people to sailing, with all levels of physical ability, including paraplegics and quadriplegics - from 5 months old to 90 years old.

So, whether you want to race at the front of the fleet, cruise the coast with 200 + nm days achievable, or treat your friends and family to the fun of the best high performance social sailing they’ll ever experience, Trilogy is a unique vessel to tick all those boxes.

The current owner has 60 years of sailing and maritime industry experience, and has upgraded the boat, using the very best equipment available, over two refits in the past five years.

The first refit, in 2020/21, was for day sailing and island getaway weekends. The upgrades at that stage included:

- North Sails 3DL mainsail, no 1 headsail, and no 2 headsail.

- Victron Lithium battery and management system with solar panel.

- LED white and red interior lighting

- Fans

- Australian built Evakool fridge

- Electric toilet with holding tank

- EPIRB

- Lifebuoys, man overboard lights and danbuoy

- Lightweight seating/hiking frame system, which aids access for sailors with disabilities

- Lightweight targa bar seating setup for two, with shade from solar panel

- Forward netting for relaxation and for foredeck safety

Further upgrades in 2023 meticulously prepared the vessel for ocean/coastal passages. The preparations included:

- Full sand, prime, antifoul

- Refurbishment of the carbon mast, including new spreader pins and bolts

- New Tohatsu 20 hp outboard with electric start and tilt. 80 hours use

- Simrad chartplotter

- AIS receive and transmit

- Clipper apparent wind speed/direction

- Raymarine autopilot

- Raymarine Depth sounder

- 1x19 dieform standing rigging, with Dynex Dux u/v sheathed cap shrouds

- Spectra halyards

- 5 Ronstan Orbit 2 speed winches with revolutionary “quick trim” feature, which allows safe easing and trimming of sheets and halyards without removing line from the tailer, or the handle from the winch.

- 3 large waterproof cockpit lockers and rope bags, winch handle pockets and drink holders

- Shade covers for outboard seats each side (removeable)

- Overhaul and restitching of trampoline decks

Trilogy also comes with a storm jib, a fractional screacher with furler and u/v strip, a fractional code 0, a fractional assy kite, and a masthead assy kite.

A registered galvanised road trailer completes this awesome package, enabling easy slipping of the vessel, or relocation by road.
